Mary Jo Hatch passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024, at Hillcrest Nursing Center. She was 90 years old. She was born on May 10, 1934, to the late Earl J. Johnson and Edna Mae Freeman in Covington, Kentucky.
She was an avid reader and was a member of the Book Club at the Magee Library. She also loved sewing and crocheting. She was a member of the Busy Bees in Magee. Animals were her passion and she never met a stray she wouldn’t try to help. She loved to travel with her husband, Walter, in their camper and see the sights in the country.
Mary Jo is survived by daughters Sandra Lee Rolan (Chris), Sherry D. Johnson (Bill) and Stephanie K.H. Montero (Nestor) along with fifteen grandchildren, Andres Montero, Jared Montero, Rebecca Floyd, Rachel Montero, Stephen Floyd, James Floyd, Joseph Montero, Joanna Smith, Victoria Floyd, Sam Floyd, Amanda Dobson, Mandi Moulder, Michael Johnson, Erin Dryer, Geoffrey Rolan and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Edna Johnson and her husband, Walter Frazier Hatch.
Her family will hold a private Celebration of Life service in Lehigh Acres, Florida.
