Mary Alice Evans passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 14, 1951, to Solomon Warren White and Maxie Lucille Graves White in Magee, MS.
Mary Alice married the love of her life, Billy Evans, right after high school, and they began their life together. She was totally devoted to her family. She enjoyed gardening and was an excellent cook. She always ensured everyone was cared for and had plenty to eat. She loved all the gatherings with her loved ones. She was very good at arts and crafts, painting, and just about anything related to carpentry.
After Billy retired from Colonial Bakery, they were inseparable. They worked their chicken houses together, and after they sold those, they began traveling and doing craft shows. Where you saw one, you always saw the other.
Mary Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Billy Evans; parents, Solomon and Maxie White; brothers, Archie White (Sandy, Ann), Jerry White (Pam); sisters, Bobbie Kukor (Jerry), Billie O’Neal (JL), Donnie Thornton (Jimmy Fred) and sisters-in-law, Rita White and Ouida Sue White.
She is survived by their children, Brian Evans (Regina), and Daniel Evans (Michelle); daughter, Kayla Evans (Brian); brothers, Ray White and Jackie White; sisters, Lou Mangrum and Carolyn Bush (William); grandchildren Wade Evans, Ryan Evans, Nathan Evans, Alex Evans, Landon Brown, Kylar Brown, Jordon Brown, Reid Evans; great-granddaughter, Bennett Evans along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at New Hope Baptist Church, 335 New Hope Road, Mount Olive, MS, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. The service will be at noon with Bro. Mark Robinson and Bro. Jimmy Arender officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New Hope Baptist Church, Post Office Box 731, Magee, MS.
