Martha Dodd Metts passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, in Magee, MS. She was born on July 10, 1934, to Lawrence Dodd Sr. and Ada Mae Torrence Dodd.As a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church, Martha although homebound for the past several years, was faithful to be present online with her hymn book and worship bulletin in hand. Throughout her life she made sure her family was active in their local church. She kept a close relationship with her siblings. She loved her family very much.She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Metts Sr.; her parents, Lawrence and Ada Mae Dodd; her brothers, Billy Dodd and Lawrence Dodd; sisters, Jamie Lee Aldridge, Eva Prouty, and Becky Heintz.Martha is survived by her son, Joe Metts Jr. (Teri); daughter, Myra Arnold; sisters, Dutchess Dodd and Judy Lyons; grandchildren, Josh Metts (Kristee), Jonathan Metts (Kay), Sarah Metts (Josh), Trey Arnold, and Gency Arnold along with many beloved great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Dry Creek Baptist Church at 1:00 PM. The interment will be at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS at a later date.
