Laquetta Cole Scoggins, 94, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025. She was born on December 25, 1930, to D.L. Cole and Velma Sullivan Cole in Mendenhall, Mississippi.
Laquetta and her husband of sixty years, John, raised their family in Pearl, MS. She retired from the Pearl School System where she was a bus driver and assistant teacher for many years. Upon retirement, they moved to Martinville and loved living in the country. They enjoyed farming and being outdoors. She really loved driving her tractor. She was a member of Kennedy Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Scoggins, and her parents, D.L. Cole and Velma Sullivan Cole and siblings,
Van Cole, Lee Cole and Annetta Cole.
She is survived by her sons, John R. Scoggins (Shirley), Ronnie Scoggins (Ouida), Anthony Scoggins, and Stephen Scoggins (Dollie); daughters, Amy Laster (Tom), Ann Klobe (Paul); sister, Justina C. Eaton, and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Deaconess Hospice and Centerwell Home Health.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Blair E. Batson, 601-984-2300, 2500 North State Street, Jackson, MS 39216, in her memory.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Kennedy Springs Baptist Church, with visitation from 10:00 until 12:00. Bro. Mike West will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Kennedy Springs Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
