On December 30, 2024, at approximately 5:22 PM, the Magee Police Department responded to a report of multiple individuals armed with firearms at Park Place Apartments. Upon arrival, officers observed a group of male subjects standing between two buildings.
When officers approached, the subjects fled on foot through the woods and across buildings. During the pursuit, two individuals carrying firearms were observed. Despite verbal commands to stop, the suspects continued to run. After a chase through nearby apartments, one suspect, later identified as a Magee High School student, was apprehended and taken into custody.
The investigation revealed that the suspect was in possession of approximately 59 grams of marijuana and two scales. The suspect cooperated and led officers to a location where a discarded weapon was recovered on a playground near Park Place Apartments.
Officers are still investigating to identify the others who managed to escape.
School administrators have been notified of the incident involving one of their students so that appropriate protocol can take place.
A gun in the wrong hands is a danger to everyone in our community. We are committed to keeping our neighborhoods safe and ensuring that illegal firearms are removed from our streets.
The Magee Police Department appreciates the cooperation of the public and commends the swift actions of our officers in handling this situation.

Magee High School should file charges against the reporter and the paper for referring to them in their paper. It’s clearly not a reflection on where the student goes to school or works. Would they have put it in there if he were a Simpson Academy student?????? Hmmm , I think not.

You would think she would try and build up her home town , instead of tearing it down. Ms. Sue is even an alderman. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
