By James Davis
The Scriptural passages for today are found in 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 and 1 John 4:1: “Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.” “Test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” The apostles were especially mindful of the evil influences which were infiltrating the early churches. Jesus established the guidelines; yet, man and his efforts to alter, change, or add to were a constant threat, much as today. Man changes; God does not. We must keep our focus on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and never on man. If God is not at the center, we’re listening to the wrong spirits. Amen!
Happy Sunday! Have a Spirit-filled day! Be sure to share the love of God.
