According to Fire Marshal Charlie Valadie, the burn ban for Magee and Simpson County is still in effect.  The burn ban was implemented due to increased wildfire occurring, high drought index, dry vegetation, and the forecasted weather patterns statewide.

Outdoor burning of any kind is prohibited.   Persons caught violating a burn ban can be fined.  Simpson County remains in the exceptional extreme drought area.
