Sunday morning, October 10, 2021, a water break on I-49 across from Lavell’s Barber Shop caused hours of repair time.  City employees were on site to assist in capping the spill.  Difficulty locating the cut off value at the intersection of 1-49 and 11th Avenue led to the employees working in chest deep water.

According to Mayor Dale Berry, the break happened around 9 Sunday morning.  “Again, we are dealing with old pipes,” stated Berry

(Sue note:  I passed the area Sunday morning and videoed workers attempting to tap the valve.  I checked again later and the valve at 11th Avenue had been found and shut off allowing the men to begin completion of their work. Hats off to our city workers.  They were in a difficult situation…but kept on working.)
