Magee Welcomes MGH CEO

A Welcome Reception for Sean Johnson was held Thursday evening, January 25, 2018, at the McAlpin House in Magee.  Sean is the new CEO of Magee General Hospital and Clinic System.

Those in attendance included: Magee General Hospital Board of Directors, Magee General Hospital Department Directors and Managers, and City and County Business Owners and Leaders.

Sean is “on fire” for Magee and MGH.  With moving to Magee in his near future, Sean is ready to get involved in the community as well as to get the community involved in MGH.

Sean comes to MGH from Baptist Health System as he was the CEO of Baptist Medical Center, Yazoo City since 2013.  Later in his tenure at BMC Yazoo City, Johnson was also named the CEO at Baptist Medical Center Attala in Kosciusko, acting in this dual role for the last 11 months.

Sean grew up in the central part of Mississippi.  He attended the University of Mississippi-Oxford where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration and 2 years later, graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Master’s Degree in Health Administration.  Sean was the CEO of Quitman County Hospital, LLC in Marks, Mississippi for 6 years before joining Pioneer Community Hospital Aberdeen/ Ackerman where he was the CEO from 2010 to 2013. He then joined the Baptist system in 2013.
