On Tuesday, August 9, 2016, a Magee Police officer stopped Mr. William Shelton at the Western Motel.Upon asking for Shelton’s driver’s license, the police learned they were suspended.
The officer asked Mr. Shelton to exit the vehicle and at this time the officer noticed two small bags beside the driver’s seat. The bags contained Cocaine. Mr. Shelton was then placed under arrest.
The passenger in the vehicle was also asked to exit the car. On the passenger seat methamphetamine was found. The passenger was identified as Osomond Hayes. Hayes was also arrested and both men were charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute. William Shelton was also charged with possession of cocaine.
Mr. Hayes bond was set at $10,000 and Mr. Shelton’s bond was set at $15,000.
