There are so many life lessons to be learned from band. It’s not just music, notes, or marching. It takes a lot of energy, stamina, and drive to be successful at marching. There’s also something to be said for students that go above and beyond, or master a skill that has given them trouble. This week’s MHS Band Student of the Week always attends practice, doesn’t complain, asks how they can improve, makes suggestions for ways to improve their section as a whole, and is an excellent marcher and musician. This student plans to audition for Lion’s Band in November, as they are traveling to Italy this year. He is the drum captain and has exceeded expectations as a Trojan Pride member. Congratulations Beni Rojo on being Magee High School’s Band Student of the Week.
