Magee General Hospital has tested 8 positive cases of the Coronavirus. The laboratory at MGH is a contracted site for several area health facilities. Fifty-eight test have been performed with 8 proving positive.
Visitation at the hospital has been suspended.
No positive cases were from Simpson County
According to Pam Wallace of MGH:
Please note… to date there have been NO positive cases for our inpatient hospitalized patients. There have been positive test results collected by MGH LAB on OUTPATIENTS. The MGH LAB performs outpatient testing on individuals from various counties throughout the State of MS for different healthcare entities and businesses.
Remember the cases reported by the State Department of Health are reported based on the county the person resides not the county they are tested in.
