This win brings Magee’s record to 3-1, as they’ve now won two consecutive games. Over the past two weeks, their offense has been firing on all cylinders, averaging 38.0 points per game. Meanwhile, Collins’ loss puts their record at 1-3 as they struggle to find their rhythm.
Looking ahead, Magee will face Franklin County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will have the advantage of facing a Bulldogs defense that has given up an average of 31 points per game, which could set the stage for another high-scoring outing.
In the Zone with Coach Courtney
“Good win”. We are still learning how to win with this group. We made a lot of mistakes, but it’s better to learn in a win than loss. We had a really good effort by running back T.Y. Walker who had 8 carries for 112 yards and a touchdown. He also had a critical interception on defense. Our quarterback seems to be hitting a groove he’s now been over 80% completions 2 weeks in a row. He was 11 of 13 219 yards and 2 touchdowns. Senior captain Braeden Gregory did a little of everything with 5 catches for 124 yards 2 touchdowns, 2 carries for 50 yards and a touchdown. We will try to have a great week of practice to continue to improve, as we will be home this Friday against Franklin county.
