Tuesday night was challenging for the Lady Trojan Volleyball team. Junior Varsity’s coin toss allowed Magee to serve first.  Giving it their all, Magee’s Hannah Warren, #5, slammed balls toward Puckett with amazing serve streaks, but the Lady Trojans fell short losing, the first set. The second set was more strenuous. The Junior Varsity Lady Trojans put forth an effort, but were again defeated.

The Lady Trojan Varsity Team put up a fight. The first two sets were short by a few points with the score of the second set being 17-25. Catelyn Deaver, #00, had great spikes, as well as Zykeria Cole, #1. Magee racked up points with astonishing serves by #18, Abby Myers. Three sets into the game, Selena Vasquez, #3, was diving on the court to save balls, although some could not be revived. Despite their efforts, Varsity lost the game but made the Wolves work for the win.

After a hard night of playing, Abby Myers, #18, states, “The Trojans tried their best, but didn’t quite make it. We will work hard to come back and improve our mistakes.” The Magee Trojan Volleyball team will next play on September 6, as West Jones will travel to Trojan territory and attempt to go to war with the Magee. Junior Varsity will play at 5:00 and Varsity will play at 6:00.
