Born in Brandon, MS, Lynda was a lifelong resident of Puckett,a  member of Puckett Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. Lynda was the sunshine that brightened a room. She was the purest example of compassion, patience, dignity, strength, faith and love, Since her mission in life was to lead others to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, she lived her life to the fullest for Him. Lynda’s heart found joy in serving others. For example, she cooked, cleaned, took care of her family, friends, community, family businesses, and her church. For many years, she cleaned her church and never accepted pay. Lynda Means was a blessing to so many people, and a person everyone longed to emulate. Another faithful servant went home Friday afternoon, and there was without a doubt, a Heavenly celebration.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, H. A. and Bertie Mae Kennedy and brothers, Eugene, Larry, and Phillip. Survivors include her  husband of 55 years Robert L. Means; sons, Todd and Michael, and granddaughter Cassie. She is also survived by sisters Peggy Miley, Jo Ponder, Brenda Bradshaw, Beverly Smith, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
