Lynda Ann (Stringer) O’Cain, age 79, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, to be swept up gently in the arms of her Heavenly Father, Jesus. What a glorious site she must be seeing as we celebrate and pay tribute to her life. Lynda was born August 19, 1942, to two loving parents, Clyde Stringer and Annie Lois (Stubbs) Stringer of Magee, MS.

She attended and graduated from Magee High School in 1960. She adored her classmates and had been active in planning class reunions. She later graduated from Jones Junior College and for a number of years, worked for several business in the banking and accounting industry. She was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother.
She enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, baking and decorating in her home. Lynda never missed an opportunity to witness to others. When her husband, Donald O’Cain was sheriff, she took great pride in forming a Bible study for inmates and led many young men to be saved. She was a member of Sharon Presbyterian Church of Magee.

She is survived by her daughter, Rene’ Craft (Thad); brother, Nathan Stringer; brother-in-law, Mike O’Cain (Jenny); sisters-in-law, Carole Armstrong (Mike), Ann Rushing Burkes; granddaughters, Montana Love Grubbs (Wesley), Macie Daryl Craft, Brittany Kemp (Jason); great-grandchildren, Winter Rain Kemp, Belle Kemp, Hunter Kemp and a host of nieces, nephews and a community of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Donald O’Cain; parents, Clyde and Annie Lois Stringer; father-in-law, Claude O’Cain; mother-in-law, Mary O’Cain; sister-in-law, Jerry Stringer; brothers-in-law, Paul Rushing, Wayne Burkes; niece, Jill Stringer and great niece, Abbie O’Cain.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee. Services are at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021, in Tutor Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Savell and Bro. Roger Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Cemetery in Magee.

Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
