Lula Charlene Sanderford Paes, 77, of Mendenhall, passed from this life Friday, October 7, 2016 at Bedford Care Center of Mendenhall.

 

She was born November 5, 1938 to Charlie B. and Cecil Coleman Sanderford in Pinola, She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family.

Mrs Paes is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 49 years, Albert Henry Paes; two sisters, Frances Lahman, and Bobbie Jean Ladner; and a grandson, Marshall Hobgood.

 
Survivors include her two sons, Charles Paes (Hattie) of Columbia, and Greg Paes (Tracy) of Mendenhall; Grandchildren Meshell Clark (Tommy), Kim Baggett (Keith), Lori Kelly (Jonathan), Justen Paes, Jacob Paes (Jessica), Janna Paes, Cambre Paes and Lamar Hobgood (Candi); 17 Great-grandchildren; 5 Great-great-grandchildren and 3 Very special friends, Martha Thames, Frankie Jones, and Glenn Brien.

 
Serving as Pallbearers are David Jones, Daniel Jones, Scott Bauer, Smitty Smith, John Veasey, and Josh Purser. Hononary Pallbearer, Stanley Foster.

 
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall, with visitation beginning at 9:00AM.  Burial will follow in  Merit Cemetery in Mendenhall.

 
Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements, (601)847-4401.
Memorials may be made to Merit Cemetery Fund c/o Michelle Berry at Mendenhall City Hall.
