Lucy Jewell Walsh, 78, of Mount Olive, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020, at her home. She was born Friday, August 1, 1941, in East Carroll Parish, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi, and a visitation on Monday, March 2, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi.   The burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 507 Smith County Road 28, Mize, Mississippi. Bro. John Barnes will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031

Mrs. Walsh was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister.  She was born in Louisiana.  She later moved to Mississippi where she met the love of her life Jerry Walsh in the library of Byram High School.  This meeting laid the foundation for our family.  She loved fiercely and was always there for her family when we needed her.  She never stood in the spotlight, but she always shined with a fierceness that lit our way home.  She was friend, Aunt, Mama, Mommy, Mamaw, Maw, Witch Doctor, and Lucy.  She was Jerry’s beloved.  She is loved and she will be dearly missed by all of us.
