Richland, MS- Mississippi Spay & Neuter (MS SPAN) is planning to raise money for their spay and neuter fund this GivingTuesday, a global giving movement that has been driven by individuals, charities, businesses, and communities across the US and in countries around the world. GivingTuesday is the world’s largest generosity movement and is considered by many as the opening day of the giving season.

This year, MS SPAN is celebrating the spay/neuter of 100,000 cats and dogs since their inception in 2005, preventing millions of homeless puppies and kittens in Mississippi.

MS SPAN offers spay/neuter services at the lowest possible cost, but some families still need additional support to afford the procedure. Donor support helps ensure that no cat or dog is turned away for financial reasons.

When supporters donate to MS SPAN’s spay/neuter fund, they are preventing countless litters of puppies and kittens being born to a life of homelessness, overcrowded animal shelters, and senseless euthanasia.

On average, about $22.50 in financial support is needed per patient to make sure that all animals who need spay/neuter services can receive them. By providing spay/neuter at a low cost, MS SPAN prevents litters of homeless puppies and kittens who are abandoned, surrendered to shelters, and euthanized.

Three generous donors will match all donations on Giving Tuesday, up to $17,000! If all of the funds are matched, over 1,500 animals and their families will receive the financial support they need to receive these lifesaving services.
