(June 15, 1940 – October 8, 2017)

Liz Overby, 77, of Puckett, MS passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at her home in Puckett, MS. She was born Saturday, June 15, 1940 in Brandon, MS.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Visitation will be at 10:00AM at Puckett Baptist Church unitl service time. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Puckett Baptist Church in Puckett, MS. Burial will follow in Puckett City Cemetery. Bro. Alvin Doyle and Bro. Grant McElven and Bro. Marcus Canoy will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. (601)847-4401.
Mrs. Liz was a hard worker with a generous heart full of love for others. Mrs. Liz worked as the cafeteria manager of Puckett Attendance Center for 15 years. She enjoyed working in her yard and garden, with her husband Bud on the farm, and especially loved working work at her church. She loved cooking and caring for others. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her three grandsons. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her Husband, Charles N Overby, Parents, J.D and Lula Ford,
Survivors include her Son,Perry Overby (Terri), Puckett, Grand Children, Hayden Overby, Heath Overby and Hank Overby; Brothers, Hershel Ford (Dorothy), John Robert Ford, Randel Ford (Diane), Danny Ford (Rena), Victor Ford (Cynthia), and Tommy Ford; Sisters, Gloria Creason (Harold) and Zilpha Smith; A host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mack Calhoun, Lance Dotson, Bracy James, Ronnie Means, Robert Means, Robert Love and Prentiss Calhoun.
