Ok, I have reached another mile stone in this wonderful life of mine…the requirement of a hand rail by the steps (of course, my insurance son demanded I take the steps seriously…really…how can you not take them seriously…I go up and down them about 10 times a day). The rail will not only provide assistance for me…but my sweet grands who at this point in life are learning to manage steps. The “rail” got me to thinking….things really do come full circle…a necessity for young ones…and old ones.
Thanks to Murphy Machine Shop for at least making the rail have some style…if I’ve got to do this…well, let’s have a little bling. I told someone yesterday the top finials look as if they would “wart off” the evil spirits!
As most of you know, my house is old…almost 95 years old! The original railing was a piece of pipe! I bet we slid up and down that pipe a thousand times growing up. When I redid the steps, the pipe went…but I guess the need for a railing never left!
