By James Davis
The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in 2 Corinthians 5:17-18: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone; the new has come! All this is from God, Who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.” Again, the apostle addresses the Church at Corinth, reminding them that they have shaken off the old person who was bogged down in sin. Once they accepted Christ as their personal Savior, they became new creatures and were empowered by the Holy Spirit. This set them apart and made them special. With the ongoing threat of confusion from false teachers, they needed to remember that they were vulnerable and needed the spirit of reconciliation to keep peace among their membership. We today need to remember that we, too, have that same instilling of the Holy Spirit when we accept Jesus and, therefore, become a new creation. Let us conduct ourselves in such a way that would be pleasing to God. Let us strive to be peacemakers and never sources of discontent. Amen!
Happy Sunday! Be sure to share God’s love today with everyone with whom you come in contact.
