Betty Smith Benton, 85 of Mendenhall, MS passed away Friday, October 13, 2023 at her home in Mendenhall, MS. She was born Sunday, July 10, 1938 in Puckett, Mississippi.

   Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Countyline Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall, MS. Bro. Mickey Ferguson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

  She was preceded in death by her parents, James Plumer and Hattie Smith; brother, AC Womack; sisters, Jimmie McNair and Shirley Powell.

  Survivors include her husband, Bob Benton, Sr.; son, Bob Benton, Jr.  (Genie);  daughter, Becky  Huff  (Kenneth);  grandchildren, Beth Ann  Palmer  (Ty), Hollis  Sledge  (Guy), Kendall  Huff, Jacob  Huff and Mary Jo  Benton; sister, Judy  Boggs;  great grandchild, Benton  Palmer;  best friend since first grade, Patty Smith; and a host of  nieces and nephews.

  Pallbearers will be Rod Oglesby, Richard Boggs, Reggie Boggs, Thomas Everett, John Kilpatrick, and Red Womack.
