The Scriptural passage for today is found in John 14:1-3: “Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (KJV) In these three verses, Jesus is preparing His disciples for life without Him. His earthly mission was drawing to a close, and He had to return to the Father. He offers them assurance that while He would be leaving them, He would never totally abandon them. He would one day return, claim them, and they would spend eternity with Him and his Father. He offers us that same promise, that same assurance. Let us take comfort in knowing that He will do just what He said He would do. Amen! He never fails us. He’s just the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Happy Sunday!
