Simpson County School District (SCSD) has named Drew Lane as its new assistant principal for Magee Elementary School, effective Aug. 11.
Lane, who recently served as a science teacher for the Simpson County Achievement Center, has been employed with the district for 17 years—the entirety of his professional career. Throughout his tenure at SCSD, Lane has also taught at the Mendenhall Jr. High, Mendenhall High and Magee High schools, teaching science, biology and chemistry.
“We are excited to have Mr. Lane roll into the position of assistant principal of Magee Elementary,” said Superintendent Paul Lawrence. “He has been a dedicated employee of the district for nearly two decades now, and we are pleased to see him advance in his career as a new AP.”
