Larry Joe Higgins, 66, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Magee General Hospital in Magee, Mississippi. He was born Thursday, September 30, 1954, in Hinds County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church in Mount Olive, Mississippi.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church. The burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. H.B. Floyd will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031

Mr. Higgins was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and brother-in-law.  He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, J.R. Higgins and Hattie Ree Nichols Higgins; one sister, Jean Higgins Thornton; and one brother-in-law, Robbie Gates.

Survivors include his two sons, Kenneth Joe Higgins and wife, Lacie of Magee, and Wesley Higgins of Magee; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Higgins and Matthew Higgins both of Magee; one brother, Charlie Higgins of Magee; one sister, Patricia Higgins Gates of Magee; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Higgins, Joey Higgins, Jason Higgins, Charlie Higgins, Lane Shows, and Randy Nichols.
