Judge David Shoemake Seeks Re-Election

*This is a paid political advertisement.

In November of 2010 and November of 2014, the people of this district honored me by electing me to serve as Chancery Judge. I am once again asking you to allow me to serve you as your Chancery Judge. My qualifying papers were submitted to the State of Mississippi January 4, 2018. When I took office, I entered into a solemn oath to treat all persons equally and to follow the laws of the State of Mississippi and the United States. I believe I have lived up to that oath. Lawyers and Court personnel in each of the five counties will tell you that I treat people honestly, fairly, and with respect. I’ve instituted policies that make sure the cases in Chancery Court get heard quickly so that time and money are not wasted. They will tell you that I do my best to decide each case on only the evidence and the law, not politics.

Judge David Shoemake Seeks Re-election

I am the son of Dale and Velma Shoemake, and have been a resident of Covington County all of my life. Jo and I will celebrate our fiftieth wedding anniversary this year. We are members of the First Baptist Church of Collins. Our children are Ashlye, Mark and his wife, Cassidy.

I was on active duty serving in the U. S. Army from 1969 to 1971, and reserve duty from 1971 to 1975. I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, and I received my law degree from Ole Miss in December of 1973.

Chancery Court Judges have to make decisions based upon some of the most serious and emotional issues facing families and their children. I promise I will continue to fulfill the duties of the Office of Chancery Court Judge in a professional and compassionate manner and will render justice with fairness and without bias. Every person and every lawyer coming into the Court should know that he or she will receive fair and impartial treatment from the Court.

I respectfully ask for your vote and support on November 6th, 2018.

— DAVID SHOEMAKE
