Juanita Bailey Austin

January 8, 1929- February 28, 2023

  Juanita Bailey Austin, 94 of Magee, MS passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the Magee General Hospital in Magee, MS. She was born Tuesday, January 8, 1929 in Smith County, Mississippi to the late Frank and Nelia Bailey.

  Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, MS. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 09, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, MS. Burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Bro. Jay Wesbrook and Bro. Jason Westmoreland will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031.

 She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Magee for over 30 years.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Nelia  Bailey;   four brothers, Marvin D.  Bailey, Johnny M.  Bailey, Leland  Bailey and Nelson Bailey;  three sisters, Thelma  Harper, Margaret  Bustin and Mattie Leen  Idom; grandchild, Martin Kelly

   Survivors include her two sons, Elbert Austin  of Magee, MS and Howard  Austin  (Kristi) of Salem , AR;  two daughters, Mary  Meadows  (Bobby ) of Magee, MS and Kathryn McElhenney (Kenneth) of Laurel , MS; grandchildren, Samantha  Stout, Melody  Dawn  Austin, Stephen  Austin  (Kirsten), Zachary Bynum ( Kaitlyn Abby), Chris  Austin, Douglas  Kelly, Marcus  Kelly, Jessica  Newson and Brodie  Meadows  (Amanda ); numerous great-grandchildren; and host of nieces and nephews.

    Pallbearers will be Jimmy Carruth, Johnny M. Bailey Jr., Stephen Bailey, Kenneth Bailey, Tim Burch, Larry Walker, and Benny Barrett.
