Joe William Parker, 93, of D Lo, MS passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at home in D Lo, He was born Tuesday, May 8, 1923 in , Texas..
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM at D’lo Methodist Church in D’Lo. Burial will follow in D’lo Cemetry. Beth Feisel and Bro. Gene Erwin will officiate. Joe was a member of D’Lo United Methodist Church for over 80 years. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Not only was he devoted to his family but to his country as well. In 1941, Joe left college the day Pearl Harbor was bombed to enlist in the NAVY. He was the last WWII veteran in D’Lo, Ms. After serving his country, he took a job with Trailways and made a life in his beloved town, D’Lo. Joe spent the later days of his life enjoying daily walks and visiting with his friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Joe J. and Bonnie Parker, Son, David Parker, and Great-grandson, Jacob Henderson.
Survivors include his, Son, Randy Parker (Sandra), Braxton, Daughter, Susan Beckham (Ronnie), Brandon, Grandchildren, Rachel Miller, Shane Parker, Wendy Garretson, Luke Parker, Andy Gressett, Danny Gressett, Daughter-in-law – Karon Brown, Thirteen Great-grandchildren, One Great Great Grand Child.
Pallbearers will be Luke Parker, Shane Parker, Blakelyn Cleveland, Gage Cantrell, Tate Cantrell, Danny Gressett,
Honorary pallbearers will be Titan Henderson, Noah Parker
