Buddy Joe Blackwell, 68 of Raleigh, MS passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born Sunday, June 16, 1957 in Laurel, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:oo pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Paul Blackwell will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Blackwell; father, Charlie Blackwell; mother, Earnestine Sullivan Blackwell; brothers, Larry (Buck) Blackwell, Roger Blackwell; sisters, Linda Herrington, Eloise Knight and Janet Bankston; nephews, Chaz Warrington, Lee Warrington, Jr Herrington and Clyde Saulters; niece, Renee Saulters.
Survivors include his step-son, Ken Jones (Kaytlin) of Raleigh, MS; step-daughter, Kelli Hudson (Jeremy) of Laurel, MS; brothers, Reggie Blackwell (Ann) of Mize, MS, Wayne Blackwell of Hattiesburg, MS and Paul Blackwell of Taylorsville, MS; sister, Evelyn Warrington (James) of Terry, MS; niece, Regina Day of Mize, MS.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Blackwell, Douglas Knight, Butch Dewolf, Bentley Dewolf, Dusty Herrington, and Rusty Herrington.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bryce Lingle.
