Vic Jones, Instructor at Mendenhall High School, came before the board Thursday, May 12, 2016 to talk about his students and Jobs for Mississippi Graduates Program (JMG).
December 2015 the JMG Program held an installation ceremony for new members and officers with new District Attorney Matt Sullivan installing he officers.
The group worked on a community service project Teens for Jeans and delivered over 2000 pairs of jeans to the Angel Wings Women’s Shelter of Simpson County.
Some of the individuals student accomplishments this year were:
Jordan Larkin – First Place Finance Literacy. Jordan will represent JMG at JAG National Meeting in Washington DC.
Dora Winstead – Fourth Place Entrepreneurship
Jaylah Jackson – $500 Je Hayes Scholarship
Kelsey Sheppard – Chairman’s Award. Kelsey’s video speech was played before the board Thursday night.
