Jimmy “Jim” Nelson Johnson, Sr., Pinola, MS
Jim Johnson, 80, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016, at his residence. He was born on November 10, 1935, to the (late) Otha J. Johnson and Kiturah (Wells) Johnson in Mize, MS.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl (Crawford) Johnson; one son, (Jimbo) Jimmy Nelson Johnson; one daughter, Dr. Cynthia Johnson; two granddaughters, Maghan Johnson, Angela Cason (Nick), four great grandchildren, Payton Salers, Keegan Salers, Colby Cason and Gage Cason.
Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Johnson and his wife, Mae Etta; three sisters, Frances Sullivan, Bertrize Smith and her husband, Cullen; Lucy Stanley and her husband, Pete.
Visitation for friends will be Saturday, January 23, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall, MS. Services will be held Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Tutor Funeral Home Chapel in Mendenhall. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Mize, MS. with Bro. Roger Lee and Bro. Leon Parnell officiating.
