Jimmie Currie Cockrell (Jim), passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016, at Simpson General Hospital.  He was born on October 21, 1933, to his parents, the (late) Leman Currie Cockrell  and Tishie Louise (Welch) Cockrell.
Mr. Cockrell was self employed after fifty years with Pace Oil Company.
He is survived by his wife, Doris (Brown) Cockrell; son, Leman Cockrell (Marlene); daughter, Amanda Mangum (Van) and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Duell Cockrell Smith; two brothers Sturgon Fugate Cockrell and Bernice Cockrell.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS. from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Tutor Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at Rials Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Mendenhall, MS.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
