The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in 1 Peter 1:3: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy, He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” Amen! The apostle here reminds early Christians and us today that God did a truly remarkable thing for all of us by having His only begotten Son come to earth, die in our stead, and rise again so that we might have hope of eternal life. Jesus paid a price that we could not pay. There was no substitution allowed. No greater love, indeed! And we who have accepted Jesus as our personal Savior, through the gift of salvation, can rest in knowing that as surely as we die in this mortal body, we’ll rise again in a new, glorified state. Praise be to God for His unsearchable riches He has in store for us. Today, let’s repay God in part by showing His love, joy, and kindness to our fellow man. We weren’t made to live in a vacuum. We were made for community and fellowship with others. Let us be about doing so.
