Burlin James “Jamie” Patrick Smith

Jamie Smith, 56 of Mendenhall, MS went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 19. He was born Saturday, April 27, 1968 in Nebraska City, Nebraska.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3077 Simpson Hwy 13, Mendenhall, MS. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 10:00am at Everett Baptist Church in Mendenhall, MS. Burial will follow in Everett Cemetery in Mendenhall. Bro. Jeremy Burnham and Bro. Glen Higdon will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401
Jamie was a hardworking man, he held many different jobs when he was younger but served mostly as an electrician for many, many years. He loved his family and especially loved spending time with his grandbabies. He loved to tinker and collect all different items. He enjoyed picking his guitar, playing his records, and a good glass of sweet tea. He loved the Lord and read his bible daily. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, James W. Smith; mother, Elizabeth Freeman Smith; grandchild, Asher Riette.
He is survived by his wife, Shana Smith; son, James M. Smith; daughters, Hannah Smith Riette (Jason) and Katelyn Smith Freeman (Dalton); grandchildren, Elijah Riette, Layla “Lizzie” Freeman, Abigail Riette, Gabriel Freeman; brother, Billy Smith (Rosario); sisters, Kristi Miller (Eric) and Angela Bamburg (Robert); and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be James M. Smith, Dalton Freeman, Jason Riette, Keith Miller, Kurt Miller, Dalton Bamburg, Chad Russell, and John Blunt
Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Runnels and the firefighters of Station 7 Fire Rescue.
Special music will be performed by Diane Williamson.
