(7/29/1953 – 12/14/2023)

James Ray Drennan, 70 of Magee, Mississippi passed from his earthly to his heavenly home on Thursday, December 14, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born Wednesday, July 29, 1953 in Collins, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Goodwater Baptist Church, Airport Road, Magee, Mississippi. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm at Goodwater Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Good Water Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Jason Webb will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

James Ray loved his family, they were his heart. He was fiercely loyal to all those he called friend. A firm but loving father, and as tough as they come. He was a man of few words but when he did speak, people made sure to listen. He was an avid carpenter and builder. He loved to hunt, fish and ride his motorcycle. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Drennan; mother, Eunice Butler Drennan; brothers, Larry Drennan, Billy Mack Drennan and Doug Drennan.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Magee Drennan; son, Dusty Drennan (Ree); daughters, Lacey Drennan Lancaster (Caleb) and Bethany Drennan; grandchildren, Dawsan Drennan, Devan Drennan and Ellery Lancaster; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.

Pallbearers will be Jared Drennan, Andrew Drennan, Jeremy Martin, Chris Nichols, David Nelson, and David Murphy.

Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Magee, Paul Eric Magee, Timmy Shows, Jimmy Shows, and John Henry Berry.
