James Marlon McGriff
(4/12/1938 – 8/1/2024)

 

James Marlon McGriff, 86 of Magee, MS went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at his residence in Magee, MS. He was born Tuesday, April 12, 1938 in Carthage, MS.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Christian Life Fellowship, 65 SCR 504, Forest, MS 39074. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 05, 2024 at 2:00pm at Christian Life Fellowship in Forest, MS. Burial will follow in Merchant Cemetery in Raleigh, Mississippi. Bro. Clayborn Huff will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Wayne Hollie; daughters, Mary Catherine Burkes, Jessie Louise Buffington, Betty Jean Burkes; father, Barney E. McGriff; mother, Cora Mae Smith McGriff; brothers, Elery Shelton McGriff and Lee Matthew McGriff; grandsons, George Higgins, Jr., Mark Buffington and Cecil Burkes.

He is survived by his wife, Bonita Jordan McGriff; sons, James Edward Hollie and Robert Mitchell Jordan; daughters, Syble Sheaffer, Linda Michelle McGriff and Joanna Higgins; God-son, Chris Allen; 11 Grandkids; and a host of great grandkids, other family, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Chris Allen, Xavier Perez-Allen, Colton Worrell, Wayne Batte, Randy Batte, and Dewayne Wedgeworth.
