James Dennis Barr passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021, at the age of 61. He was born on April 7, 1960, to John Pat Barr and Esther (Sutton) Barr.
James was a hard-working and humble man who worked most of his life on the family dairy farm. He was a kind man and true Southern gentleman. He was a friend to many that always put others before himself, especially his family.  Spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren was his favorite thing to do.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty-one years, Pam (Martin) Barr; son, James Barr Jr.; daughters, Lindsey Powell (Brandon), Casey Barr; brother, Guy Nolan Barr; grandchildren, Kaylea Barr, Meredith Barr, Sutton Barr, Rowdy Powell, Cage Duncan, Emmie Powell and Harper Duncan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Pat Barr.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church, 223 Jack Davis Road, Mendenhall, MS. The service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Bro. Jack Woodard officiating. Interment will follow in Pecan Orchard Cemetery, Mendenhall, MS.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
