(April 8, 1935 – October 6, 2022)

            Jackie Nell Blakeney Craft, 87 of Taylorsville, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born Monday, April 8, 1935, in Smith County, Mississippi.

            Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 113 Front Street, Taylorsville, Mississippi, and on Monday, October 10, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on SCR 72, Taylorsville, Mississippi.

            Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Brother Rodney Hannah will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564

            Mrs. Jackie was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  She enjoyed traveling to the Smoky Mountains, camping, reading, working search word puzzles, watching game shows, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-three years, G.C. Craft; father, Varadam Blakeney; mother, Molly Bryant Blakeney; grandsons, Adam Pittman and Shannon Craft brother, Junior Blakeney; and sister, Charlene Blakeney.

            Survivors include her one son, George Craig Craft (Vickie) of Raleigh, MS; two daughters, Belinda Craft Ashley (Rudy) of Taylorsville, MS and Sheila Diane Craft Pittman of Taylorsville, MS; five grandchildren, Michael Craft of Lorene, MS, Jody Craft of Raleigh, MS, Elizabeth Pittman of Taylorsville, MS, Wendi Ashley Nichols (Ross) of Magee, MS and Cory Ashley (Michelle) of Laurel, MS;  sixteen great-grandchildren, Steven Craft of Raleigh, MS, Matthew Craft of Raleigh, MS, Natalie Craft of Raleigh, MS, Jack Craft of Raleigh, MS, Grace Craft of Raleigh, MS, Whitney Whitehurst Thomas (Micah) of Taylorsville, MS, Shelby (Joseph) Whitehurst of Laurel, MS, Calvin Pittman of Walnut Grove, MS, Cannon Pittman of Walnut Grove, MS, Callie Pittman of Walnut Grove, MS, Kyleigh Ashley of Laurel, MS, Hadlee Nichols of Magee, MS, Holten Nichols of Magee, MS, Rachel Martin/Ashley of Laurel, MS, Natalie Martin/Ashley of Laurel, MS, Katilyn Welborn of FL;  two great-great-grandchildren, Taylor Craft of Raleigh, MS, Aiden Thomas of Taylorsville, MS and two on the way; one brother, Larry Blakeney (Brenda) of Hebron, MS; three sisters, Wandell Blakeney Graves of Laurel, MS and Marie Blakeney Tharpe of Brandon, MS, and Shirley Blakeney Rogers of Meridian, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

            Pallbearers will be Keith Runnels, Dennis Hutchinson, Dewayne Blakeney, Charles Graves, Tommy Craft, and Tony Blakeney.
