Happy 4th of July! The 4th is one of my favorite holidays! With my granddaughters here this year, I am especially enjoying this day!
Don’t forget city sponsored fireworks at the Sportsplex Tuesday night beginning at dusk. The fireworks display will take place on the “football” field at the Sportsplex. The football field is located at the very back of the complex.
Saturday morning at 10:00 AM the new digital Sportsplex sign will be unveiled. State Tournaments will be in progress. Hope you can come for the “view.”
Prayers for David Yelverton and Josh Allen who were involved in the wreck on highway 28 East on Monday. Both men are in the hospital in Jackson.
The Board of Supervisors meeting is Wednesday at 9 o’clock. Public is always invited.

Although the meeting starts at 6:30, the court room will be open at 6 with officials in attendance to allow anyone to come and ask questions. Sympathy to Beth Herring Cox, formerly of Magee…daughter of the late Dr. Jack and Mrs. Sally Herring, Beth’s husband, Chet, died Tuesday morning at 4:41 after a 4 year battle with cancer.
(Please forgive me if I have everything mixed up on my writings…I had forgotten how difficult any activity was with children present! How did I walk and talk when I had 3 wild boys at home!)
Blessings on this wonderful day. Thank you again to the men and women who have and do make our country free. God bless America.
