Ina Mae Floyd McFall, 91, of Hattiesburg, passed from this life Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Forrest General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall, Bro. Maurice Bryant will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday November 15, 2015 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel in Mendenhall. A private burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson, on Monday. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements, (601)847-4401.
Mrs. McFall was born in Flora, Mississippi on September 28, 1924. Her father, Colon N. Floyd, was an attorney with law offices in Flora and Jackson. Her mother, Nannie Bishop Cooper, was a seamstress and homemaker.
During her first marriage to Jack Mangum she had a son, Jasper Carroll Mangum, who now lives in Hazlehurst, and has one daughter Ginger (Edward) Mangum and they have two children, Anna Gayle Rutledge, and Luke Tyler Rutledge.
In 1954, Ina was working at Mississippi Products as a key punch operator where she met and married Oscar McFall, who had transferred to Jackson from Louisville, Kentucky. They had one daughter Jayne McFall Herrington who is currently living in Hattiesburg.
Ina and Oscar eventually moved from Jackson to Braxton where she began working for the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board in Jackson. She retired after 20 years from the Baptist Board as a computer operator coordinator in the business office after working for the Baptist Record for seven of those years.
Various interest have been part of Ina’s life – from painting, sewing, and gardening to musical instruments such as the piano, dulcimer and harmonica. She seemed to master whatever she choose to pursue.
Ina is survived by her son and daughter and her brother Claiborne Floyd from Birmingham, Alabama, and two step daughters, Jean McFall Conner and Doris “Dot” McFall Ferguson of Hazlehurst.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one step son William E. McFall, one step Daughter Sherry McFall Thompson, one grandson Steven Bradley Herrington, one great granddaughter Jana Clair Rutledge, two sisters Cuell Langenhenning and Mary Ellis Maddox, and two brothers Colon Floyd Jr. and Bewie Floyd.
A beautiful, Christian lady, in all ways, she will be truly missed by her family and friends.
