In my Heart
In my morning devotion, I am reading Max Lucado’ “Just like Jesus”. He reminds us about Jesus dwelling in our hearts and how we need to be more like Jesus. In church, we sing songs like “Into My Heart” and “Let Jesus come into my heart” and we are told to invite Jesus into our hearts. It struck me that He has been in my heart for a long time and I thought about all of the times I hurt Him!! I have allowed things into my heart that were hurtful to Him. I allow anger, frustration, doubt, greed, laziness, into my life and heart! I wonder if the nail scars hurt with each sin I allowed near Him in my heart? Did He feel the sting of betrayal when I allowed the cares and distractions of this world to interfere with His plans for me? How many blessings have I missed because I wanted my way and not His way? I must beg His forgiveness!
