“If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is My disciple.”

The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Matthew 10:42: “If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is My disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.” Here, the apostle is quoting Jesus as He spoke during His ministry of the importance of showing love (charity) and generosity toward others, especially to fellow believers. Children were very dear to Jesus and were often used as examples in His teaching of new converts because of the innocence, sensitivity, and trusting nature of small children. Let us do likewise by showing the love of Jesus when dealing with others, especially to and with those new in their walk with the Lord. Amen!

Now, let’s be sure to share the love, joy, and kindness today as we go about mixing and mingling with others. Let it not be said of us as Christians that we are grouchy, cross, or grumpy in dealing with our fellow man. Think of Jesus as He made His way through the crowds and when dealing one on one.
