About 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, I received two pictures from Alderman Mark Grubbs.  I was horrified and saddened.  Who would want to destroy our Park?  Keep Magee Beautiful worked countless hours on the Ural Everett Park to clean it up and make more attractive.

For the Christmas holidays, even more attention was given to the park.

Now, look at what has happened!  The large pedestal has been completely destroyed.  The Grubbs-Stephen family made a donation of the pedestal and two large planters.  The pedestal alone cost over $1,000.

Why? Why? Why would anyone destroy the area in our city that is so often used for pictures?

The back doors are to be covered…and cameras installed…but neither project has been completed by the city.

We need your eyes.  We need your children’s eyes.  Please, when “dragging” Main, check out the park.  We need people to ride through the ally to help us catch the people vandalizing our park.

We are not a city of vandals.  Let’s show these folks and join forces to protect our property.

Check out an earlier article with Dot Nichols.
