A familiar face returns to the Co-Lin Women’s Basketball program to begin her coaching career. Alexus Holt returns to Wesson to join the women’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Holt, a native of Epps, Louisiana, played for the Lady Wolves from 2016-2018. As a two-year starter, Holt averaged 12.9 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game, and 3.2 assists per game. After her two years at Co-Lin, she then continued her academic and playing career at Grambling State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in May 2021 and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration.
During her time at Grambling, Holt was named a First Team All-SWAC performer and made the SWAC All-Tournament team while playing in all 30 games for Grambling. She averaged 36.6 minutes per game and led the team in points per game at 17 while also averaging 5.3 rebounds per game, 3.5 assists per game, and 2.0 steals per game. Additionally, Holt shot nearly 41 percent from the floor and 74.2 percent from the foul line and was also named to the BOXTOROW All-American Team. Holt was also named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) All-Louisiana Second Team after her final season at Grambling.
“We are really glad that Alexus is returning to Co-Lin,” stated head coach Gwyn Young. “She was a great player for us during her two years and then continued to show that during her time at Grambling.”
“We are excited to welcome her back as a coach and I think she will excel in the position,” added Young.
