Herman Cockrell was 92 years old when he left this world. He was married to his beloved wife, Wilma, for 63 years. They shared 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Herman had many skills.

He worked with Southern Pine as an electrician, worked in construction as a carpenter for many years, but we all Knew him as a farmer. “The Farmer.” He always said “it’s not considered a job if you love doing it.” and he loved the farm life.

Herman was a brother in the Masonic Lodge and he received his 70 year membership pin just last year. He was an election commissioner for over 20 years. He also served on the Okatoma Water Board and on the Board at the Magee Co-Op.

Herman Had many friends near and far that he loved dearly. To know him was to love him. Herman will be missed, but we are all better off for knowing him.

Mr. Cockrell is preceded in death by William “Bill” Cockrell (Father), Mattie Cockrell (Mother), Wilma Cockrell (Wife), ten brothers and sisters, Billy Langham (Son-in-law).

Mr. Cockrell is survived by Lynda Cooper(Bill) (Daughter), Tommy Cockrell (Cathy) (Son), Brenda Langham (Daughter), seven Grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren), a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; Sister- in-Laws Theo Cockrell, Virginia Kennedy.
