The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in 1 Peter 4:7: “The end of all things is near, therefore, be clear-minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.” The early disciples of Christ fully expected His return during their lifetimes. The apostles preached that He would; yet, we know that God’s timetable is not the same as man’s. He will return, because He has promised that He will, but no one knows the day nor the hour. Not even the angels in Heaven know. We are told to be watching and waiting for His return and to live our lives as if today could be the day. We are urged to stay focused and clear-minded and in control of our faculties so we can pray without ceasing. The Word of God for the people of God; thanks be to God! Amen!

Yes, He will return, as He has promised, and Scripture is clear on this point. We need to be prepared and expectant for His glorious return.
