The Scriptural passage for today is found in Psalm 18:16: “He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters.” The psalmist sounds like a downing man who has been saved by a good Samaritan. But he knew he had been saved from certain death by the very Hand of God. The sins of his life had been wiped away and forgiven, and he was forever grateful. We who have experienced God’s “saving grace” can identify with the psalmist’s sense of being rescued and saved from eternal damnation. The hymn “Throw Out the Lifeline” comes to mind. (Google the lyrics.) Today, I hope we’ll share with others the love, joy, and kindness with which God has imbued us. He has rescued us, and we must now spread the message with others so they, like the psalmist, can rest in knowing they have been saved from drowning in their sinful state. The Word of God for the people of God; thanks be to God. Amen!
Happy Thursday!
