Easter celebrates our Lord Savior who arose from the grave.
..by his wounds we all healed. Isaiah 53:5
In honor of this special “Rising”,I want to share a “Quick Rising” Yeast Roll recipe given to me by my
“Mamaw”.
“Mamaw”(Olive Pearl Day) could cook anything and everything. She cooked a full meal for family and workers on the farm everyday. In addition to cooking, she sewed, smocked, crocheted, played the piano and organ, headed garden clubs, wrote stories, and traced our genealogy(without a computer) to the 1600’s!
My family spent every weekend and most holidays in Brookhaven at my grandparents. The picture I am posting is “Mamaw’s” handwritten recipe jotted down on whatever paper was handy at the time. She was a messy cook too! The second photo is me in my hand sewn and smocked dotted Swiss dress and coat made with love by my “Mamaw”. Note the white gloves, white hat,and white patent shoes all in honor of Easter! Very chic in 1968!!!
I was so blessed to have “Mamaw” in my life, with her sweet stories, beautiful music, delicious foods and recipes, and her overwhelming love!
Please enjoy this “Quick Rising” Yeast Roll recipe on this day of the most special “Rising” of all!
God Bless and Always Cook from the Heart!
