By James Davis
The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Hebrews 2:18: “Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.” The writer of Hebrews here assures the new Christian converts that we serve Jesus, Who was tempted in all ways as we are and, therefore, understands and empathizes with us when we are confronted with all manner of temptation. It’s important to remember, however, that He did not yield to sin. Isn’t it a great comfort to know that we can put our trust and confidence in a Savior, Who conquered sin and death, knowing that he understands, and we’ll one day be just like Him? Oh, yes, we shall be like Him someday! Strengthen us, dear Lord, day by day, as we deal with others and all the temptations in a sinful world. Keep us strong, keep us humble, yet obedient warriors for you. In your name, I pray, amen! Now, in order to please God even further, let us go about our day sharing the love, joy, and kindness He shares with us so freely and so abundantly.
Happy Tuesday!
